📡 Does CattleTrack support EID/RFID tag readers?
Yes. Chute Work has a dedicated scan field — connect your EID wand (most work over Bluetooth as a wireless keyboard), scan a tag, and it looks the animal up automatically. Every animal also has a dedicated EID Tag field on their profile, separate from their visual ear tag, so you can track both together.
📥 Can I import my existing spreadsheet or CattleMax data?
Yes — this is one of the areas CattleTrack is strongest. You can:
- Import a full CattleMax account export in one step — animals, breeding records, treatments, embryos, preg checks, measurements, and notes all come in together
- Or use Smart Import with any CSV or Excel file — it automatically maps your columns to the right fields and shows you a preview before anything is saved
You don't have to start from a blank herd.
📤 Can I export my data if I ever leave?
Yes. From Settings, Export All My Data downloads your complete herd records — every animal, weight, calving record, health event, breeding record, and sale — as a single Excel file, organized one sheet per record type. It's your data. You're never locked in.
👨👩👧👦 Can multiple family members use it at the same time?
Yes, on the Elite plan — invite additional users to your account so everyone can work in it together, rather than sharing one login.

📶 Does it work without cell service?
Yes. CattleTrack is built mobile-first with offline support — enter data in the pasture with no signal, and it syncs automatically once you're back in range. No app store download required; it installs straight to your phone's home screen from the browser.
💾 How is my data backed up?
CattleTrack runs on Supabase, a managed database platform used by production applications broadly — not a spreadsheet on someone's laptop. Combined with the full data export above, you always have a way to get a complete, current copy of your own records.
🐂 Is CattleTrack built for commercial operations, seedstock operations, or both?
Both, with plans matched to each. Basic covers the essentials commercial cow-calf operations need — calving, health, weights, pregnancy checks. Pro adds AI breeding and semen inventory management. 🌾 What about stocker or backgrounding operations?
CattleTrack Stockers is a separate, purpose-built tool for load tracking, health pulls, death loss, ADG, and cost of gain — whether it's wheat pasture, summer grass, or a dry lot.
🆕 How established is CattleTrack?
Honestly: CattleTrack is newer than long-established players in this space. What that means in practice — you're getting software built and actively improved by someone who runs cattle himself, with fast, direct feedback loops (email the founder, get an answer from the founder) rather than a large support queue. What it also means — there isn't yet a large library of independent reviews or years of public track record to point you to. If that matters to your decision, the free trial exists specifically so you can evaluate it on your own herd before committing anything.
